Frequent Asked Questions
Can I mix feed while HIV positive?
It is recommended that you breastfeed your baby for six months without giving him or her any foods and water. Breast milk has all the required nutrients to support all nutrition needs of your baby.
During this period, ensure that you are adhering to your treatment. ARVs when taken daily as per prescribed, may help to minimize the number of viruses which in turn reduce the risk of transmitting the virus to your baby.

Why do I feel pain on lower abdomen at 12 weeks pregnancy?
The muscles that support the uterus are connected to the birth canal and the pelvic floor. When the baby is growing, a little weight will stretch these muscles. as a result you will feel pressure on the lower abdomen, some stretching in the vagina and pressure on the pelvic floor muscles. Note that these feelings are normal. However, severe and continuous abdominal pains should be investigated at the health facility.
